Check the shank size against your tool's collet — 3mm and 1/8in (3.175mm) are close but not always interchangeable.
Use
Felt heads work with a polishing compound, which is usually not included. Bare felt does very little on its own. Use a separate head for each grade of compound; mixing them puts coarse grit into your final polish.
Keep the speed low and the head moving. Too fast burns the felt and heats the workpiece.
Safety
Wear impact-rated eye protection — heads come off shanks at speed. Never exceed the rated speed, keep long hair and loose clothing tied back, and clamp the workpiece. Wear a dust mask; polishing throws fine compound dust.
