Third-party lithium chargers are a known fire risk. Genuine chargers communicate with the battery's protection circuit and manage cell balancing and temperature; cheap chargers often do neither properly, and an overcharged lithium pack vents and burns.

Charge on a hard non-flammable surface, away from anything that will burn, and never overnight or unattended. Unplug it when charging is finished. Do not charge a battery that is damaged, swollen, wet or hot from use — let it cool first.
