What 20W means in practice
A 20W gun is for craft and light repairs. It takes a few minutes to heat, the glue sets fast, and it will not keep up with continuous work or bond anything heavy. For structural or repeated use, a higher wattage gun is the right tool.
Safety — hot melt glue causes serious burns
Molten glue is around 150°C and it sticks to skin while it burns. That is what makes glue gun burns worse than a simple touch on something hot — you cannot get it off quickly. If it happens, run the area under cold water for at least 10 minutes and do not try to peel the glue off.
Always use the stand; never lay a hot gun on its side. Glue drips from the nozzle when idle — work over a protected surface. Unplug it when you stop, and let it cool fully before storing.
Adult supervision for children. Do not use it on anything that will be heated, or near food surfaces.
