Check the part number and vane count against your old impeller before ordering. Horsepower alone is not enough.
Aftermarket part.
The impeller is the only thing cooling your outboard. After fitting, start the engine and check that a steady stream of water comes out of the telltale within a few seconds. If it does not, shut the engine down immediately.
Impellers should be replaced roughly every season or two, or after any run without water. Never run an outboard dry, even for a moment.
