Important — know what these are not for
These are for fencing, garden wire and light rigging. They are not rated lifting equipment. Never use them to lift a load, suspend anything overhead, or in any application where a failure could hurt someone. Lifting requires certified, inspected and marked equipment.
Safety
Wire under tension whips back hard if it fails. Wear eye protection and gloves, and stand to the side of the run, never in line with it.
Tension gradually and check the anchor points can take the load. Wire rope develops broken strands with age — run a rag along it, and if it snags, replace the wire. Do not over-tighten; most fencing wire needs far less tension than people apply.
