Check which profiles are included in the product options before ordering. File on the forward stroke only and lift on the return. Clean the teeth with a file card as you go — a clogged rasp tears the wood. Rasps leave a rough surface by design; follow with a file and sandpaper.
Wear eye protection and a dust mask. Fit a handle if the tang is bare — a bare tang will go into your palm if the rasp catches.
