Desoldering Pump — Aluminium Solder Sucker with Spring Plunger
A spring-loaded vacuum pump in an aluminium body, for sucking molten solder off a joint when removing components or correcting a mistake.

How to use it
Melt the joint fully with the iron first, then bring the nozzle in and release the plunger. Solder that is not fully molten will not lift — and repeatedly reheating a pad is what lifts a track off a board.
Empty the barrel regularly; solidified solder inside stops it sealing. The nozzle tip is a consumable and melts back over time.
Safety
Molten solder is flung out when the pump fires. Wear eye protection, and never point the nozzle at yourself or anyone else.
Work in a well-ventilated area or with fume extraction — solder and flux fumes are harmful. Wash your hands after soldering, particularly with leaded solder. Let the iron and the joint cool before handling.
