Before you order — read this
Check the centre bore size against your machine (25.4mm is the most common) and check your machine is rated to take a metal blade at all. Many strimmers, and almost all electric ones, are line-only. Fitting a blade to a machine not designed for it is dangerous.
A metal blade requires a bike-handle machine with a proper harness and a blade guard — not a loop-handle strimmer.
Safety — this is the most dangerous attachment on a strimmer
Metal blades kick back. If the blade hits a stone, a fence post or a thick stem with the wrong part of its edge, the whole machine is thrown sideways at speed — usually towards your legs. This causes serious injuries every year.
Wear full face protection, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and boots with steel toes and cut protection. Keep everyone at least 15 metres away.
Cut with the left-hand segment of the blade, never the front-right quadrant. Never use a damaged, cracked or bent blade — it will disintegrate. Check the nut and washer are correct and tight, and stop the engine before touching the blade.
