Outer Rotor Brushless Servo Motor – Salvaged Robot Chassis Drive Motor
Please read before ordering: these are salvaged units, sold as-is.
What we know about them
- Neodymium outer-rotor brushless servo motor, originally used as a robot chassis drive with tyres or wheels
- Built-in drive circuit with a magnetic encoder — 12-bit, nominally 4096 counts per revolution
- Nominally controlled over an RS-485 bus; nominal 6S battery voltage
- Outer rotor diameter about 65mm, with an oil seal on the rotor shaft
- Weight: approx. 200g, or 215g with a bracket
- Choose with or without a bracket
Test notes
With the internal drive removed, the motor can be run from a standard brushless ESC — tested at 12V–24V, no-load speed 490–980 rpm. Spun by hand, the outer rotor generates over 12V, so it may suit DIY generator projects.
Important: These are second-hand units removed from equipment. Some may show light white oxidation on the casing. We have not fully tested the RS-485 control function, we cannot guarantee the protocol details, and an RS-485 adapter board is required. No technical support is provided and the motors are sold on their physical condition, not on any guaranteed function — buy only if you are confident working this out yourself.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but when I connected black to A and white to B using RS-485 at 38,400 bps, I was able to get it to work.
