This Hiby R1 is astoundingly good for the £50 I paid, build quality is solid and sturdy, even though it's mostly plastic, WHY the BACK is glass is just pointless. UI experience: 5/5 It's extremely well thought out, VERY easy to use. Creating playlists is easier on this than ANY other budget DAP I've tried, you can easily select multiple files to add to a playlist - something many other players just don't do. All the functions are there - quick searching, equaliser, favourites etc and it really couldn't be easier to use. Sound quality: 4/5 Though the sound is clean, detailed and punchy (using MSEB), I found noticeable distortion at its extremities, which shows they can be adjusted to beyond the hardwares (dac) capabilities, which seems odd, it would have been better to have this capped at a certain level. As for the MSEB - it's the preferred option over the 10 band equaliser and you will get a more 'personal' sound using this. Overall, this is a genuinely fantastic little DAP.
