Safety — microwave heating

Heat in short bursts and check the temperature on your wrist before putting it on your face. Microwaves heat unevenly and create hot spots — burns from microwaved compresses are common, and facial skin and eyelids are thin.

Never exceed the heating time in the instructions, and never re-heat a compress that is still warm. Do not use it over the eyes if you have an eye infection, a stye, or after eye surgery without medical advice.

Do not use it on anyone with reduced skin sensation, or on a child, and never fall asleep wearing it. Stop if the skin becomes red or sore. Let it dry fully between uses.
