The title said "Pore Refining" and the listing said it smooths texture, minimises the look of pores, brightens dull skin and provides gentle exfoliation without irritation. All of that has been taken out.

This is a cosmetic moisturiser, not a medicine. It does not brighten or lighten skin. It does not minimise pores — pore size is set by your skin. And retinol is not "without irritation" — irritation is its most common effect, especially around the eye.

The retinol strength is not stated, which is the only figure that would tell you anything.

Safety — retinol near the eye needs care

Do not use retinol if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Speak to a doctor first.

Retinol makes skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use sun protection every day while using it, and prefer applying it at night. Peeling, redness and stinging around the eye are common — start once or twice a week and build up slowly.

Apply on the orbital bone, well away from the lash line. Never get it in the eye — rinse thoroughly with water if you do. Patch test and wait 24 hours before first use. Take out contact lenses before applying. Do not combine with acids, scrubs or other retinoids. Stop if the skin becomes sore or swollen. Keep out of reach of children.
