What it will and will not do

• It is sized for a wardrobe, cupboard or cabinet, not a room. A 5W unit will not dry out a bedroom, a basement or a damp wall — for that you need a compressor dehumidifier.
• Drier air makes a closed space less prone to musty smells. It does not kill mould, bacteria or anything else — earlier supplier wording suggesting otherwise has been removed.
• If you already have visible mould or a damp problem, find and fix the source. A device like this will not.
