⚠ Important — safety buckle
A cat collar must have a breakaway (quick-release) safety buckle. Cats catch collars on branches, fences and furniture, and a collar that does not release can strangle a cat or trap a leg through it. Check the product images and confirm this collar has a breakaway buckle before you put it on a cat, and do not use it if it has a fixed clip.
Fit it so two fingers slide under it — no looser, or a paw gets through.
Never attach a lead to a cat's collar. Use a harness.
Check the fit regularly, especially on a growing kitten.
A collar is not a substitute for microchipping, which is now a legal requirement for pet cats in England.
