Before you order
Check the pipe size and thread standard in the product options against the pipe and fittings you are using. Thread standards are not interchangeable, and a thread cut to the wrong standard will leak or cross-thread.
This is for PVC pipe. It is not a steel pipe threader — do not try to cut steel with it.
Safety
Clamp the pipe securely in a vice; do not hold it by hand. Use a low drill speed and expect the drill to grab — use a drill with a side handle and a clutch if you have one, and be ready for it to kick.
Wear eye protection and gloves; PVC swarf is sharp and flies. Threaded PVC is significantly weaker than solvent-welded PVC and is not suitable for pressurised or buried water systems in many building codes. Check your local plumbing regulations before using threaded PVC joints, especially on drinking water.
