Carbon fibre is stiffer than plastic spudgers but softer than metal, so it gets into tight seams without gouging the board or the frame. Non-magnetic matters near compass sensors and speaker magnets.
Before you pry anything
Power the device down and disconnect the battery before working near the board. Discharge static first; carbon fibre being anti-static protects the board only if you are grounded too.
Lift board connectors straight up, never at an angle — a torn connector is usually unrepairable. Take great care near a battery: puncturing a lithium pouch cell can start a fire.
Carbon fibre splinters as it wears — replace the tool when the tip frays.
