The 0.5T figure is the supplier's claim and carries no certificate or test documentation. Take it as an indication, not a rating you can rely on.
This is a pulling and tensioning tool, not lifting equipment. Never use it to lift a load, suspend anything, or work under a load it is holding. Lifting requires certified, marked and inspected gear — and in most countries that is a legal requirement, not a preference.
Safety
A wire rope under tension that lets go whips back with enormous force. Wear eye protection and heavy gloves. Stand to the side of the line of pull, never in line with it, and keep everyone else out of that line too.
Check the jaw teeth are clean and undamaged, and that the rope is the right diameter for the grip — an undersized rope in an oversized grip slips. Inspect wire rope for broken strands before pulling on it.
