Check your drill takes SDS Plus, not SDS Max — they are different shanks and do not interchange. Also check the drill has a chisel-only mode; using a chisel with rotation on will damage the tool and the bit.

Safety

• Tile removal throws sharp shards. Wear a full face shield or goggles, gloves, long sleeves and hearing protection.
• Wear a dust mask — tile and adhesive dust often contains silica, which damages lungs.
• Check for cables and pipes before chiselling into a wall or floor.
• Grease the shank regularly and let the tool do the work.
