⚠ Safety — read this before you fit it
Steel wire is far more dangerous than nylon trimmer line. It does not simply break on impact — pieces snap off and are thrown at high speed, and it will cut skin, break bone and blind. Several safety regulators warn against fitting metal line to a domestic trimmer.
Only fit it to a machine and a head the manufacturer says will take steel wire. Never fit it to a light domestic strimmer or a bump-feed nylon head.
Wear a full face shield — not just glasses — plus long trousers, boots, gloves and hearing protection.
Keep the guard fitted, and keep everyone, including pets, at least 15 metres away.
Check the line for damage before every use, and never use it near cars, windows or people.
Check the wire gauge your head accepts before ordering.
