Good to know

• Self-locking means the load cannot back-drive the motor. That is useful for lifts, actuators and window openers — but it also means you cannot turn the output by hand, so plan a manual override if you need one.
• Choose the gear ratio by the torque you need first. Lower rpm means more torque; the ratio cannot be changed once fitted.
• Check the voltage option — a 24V motor on 12V runs at roughly half speed with much less torque.
• Worm gearboxes are less efficient than spur or planetary types. Expect more heat and more current draw for the same output.
• Speeds are no-load. Figures are the supplier's and have not been independently tested.
