Use
The magnetic ring does two useful things: it holds the screw on the bit so you can start it one-handed, and it keeps the bit square to the screw, which is what stops the head camming out.
Check it is impact rated before using it on an impact driver — non-rated holders snap. Keep the magnetic ring away from hard drives, cards and mechanical watches.
Bits and holders are consumables; a worn bit rounds off screw heads. Wear eye protection.
