Before you order
Check which chip your board actually uses. The TDP158 and the SN75DP159 are not the same part and are not always interchangeable — identify the marking on your existing chip before ordering. Check the pack quantity too.
Confirm the retimer is actually the fault. No HDMI output has several causes on these consoles, and replacing the retimer on a board with a different fault wastes both the chip and the board.
This is advanced repair work
Replacing a QFN-40 chip requires hot air rework, flux, good extraction and real practice. It is not a beginner job, and a failed attempt usually ends the board.
Work with fume extraction or good ventilation — solder and flux fumes are harmful. Discharge static before handling the board and the chip. Clean all flux residue off with isopropyl alcohol afterwards.
