Never exceed the maximum rpm marked on the blade. Most rotary tools spin far faster than a small saw blade is rated for — run it on the lowest speed, and if no rpm is marked, treat the blade as unrated and do not use it at high speed.
- Small toothed blades on a rotary tool grab and kick back hard. Wear a full face shield, not just glasses.
- Clamp the work. Never hold small pieces by hand.
- Check each blade for cracks or missing teeth before use, and throw away any that has been dropped.
