Never exceed the maximum rpm marked on the blade. Most rotary tools spin far faster than a small saw blade is rated for — run it on the lowest speed, and if no rpm is marked, treat the blade as unrated and do not use it at high speed.
Small toothed blades on a rotary tool grab and kick back hard. Wear a full face shield, not just glasses.
Clamp the work. Never hold small pieces by hand.
Check each blade for cracks or missing teeth before use, and throw away any that has been dropped.
