Good to know

• 3.5X–90X is the range with the auxiliary lenses fitted. The microscope on its own is 7X–45X; the 0.5X lens takes it down and the 2X lens up. Fitting an auxiliary lens also changes the working distance, which matters for soldering.
• Check whether the camera is included in the option you are buying — it is often sold separately.
• Camera megapixel figures on microscope cameras are interpolated more often than not. Resolution at the eyepiece is set by the optics, not the sensor.

Safety

• Do not stare into the LED ring light.
• Set the eyepiece dioptre and interpupillary distance properly — a badly set stereo microscope causes eye strain and headaches.
