A three-metre flexible electroluminescent wire strip for adding ambient light to a car interior, running on the car's 12V supply. Tucks into dashboard and door trim seams.

Fitting and legal note
EL wire needs a small inverter, which is normally included — check the product options. Route the wire away from pedals, the steering column, airbag covers and seat rails. Never run wiring across or behind an airbag cover.
Interior lighting law varies by country. Many places restrict lights that are visible from outside the vehicle, and red or blue light in particular. Check your local rules before fitting, and do not use it while driving if it distracts you or reflects in the windscreen.
EL wire dims over time; it is a decorative accessory with a limited life, not a permanent installation.
