Check the size against your fitting before ordering.
Turn the water off at the stopcock and drain the line down before you start.
Go slowly and squarely. An extractor that snaps inside a fitting is far harder to remove than the original broken pipe, and hardened extractor steel cannot be drilled out.
Penetrating oil and a little heat help. Do not use heat near plastic pipe or seals.
Wear eye protection, and check the thread is clean and undamaged before you fit a new valve.
