Good to know

• True RMS gives correct readings on the distorted waveforms produced by dimmers, inverters and variable-speed drives, where a cheaper average-responding meter reads low.
• The infrared thermometer measures surface temperature only and is affected by how shiny the surface is. It is a rough guide, not a calibrated measurement.
• Accuracy figures are the manufacturer's and have not been independently calibrated. Do not use this meter where a certified measurement is required.

Safety — please read

• Check the safety category rating (CAT II / III / IV) marked on the meter and its leads before using it on mains. We cannot independently verify the rating, so take it as suitable for low-voltage electronics, battery and automotive work, and be cautious about mains distribution boards and three-phase supplies.
• Never rely on any meter alone to prove a circuit is dead. Prove the meter on a known live source, test the circuit, then prove the meter again.
• Inspect the leads for damage before every use and keep your fingers behind the finger guards.
• Do not point the infrared laser at anyone's eyes.
