DC Power Meter DT550 — 4.5–50V 0–12A Digital Voltmeter and Ammeter with 5.5x2.5mm Connectors
An inline DC power meter with 5.5 x 2.5mm barrel connectors, reading voltage (4.5–50V), current (0–12A) and power. Plugs between a DC adapter and the device being tested.
Key Features
- 4.5–50V DC, 0–12A
- 5.5 x 2.5mm barrel in and out
- Volts, amps and power on one display
- Inline — no wiring needed
Check that your device uses the 5.5 x 2.5mm barrel size — 5.5 x 2.1mm is also very common and will not fit properly. Check the polarity of your supply too.
Safety
This is a DC meter. Do not connect it to AC mains — it will be destroyed and it is dangerous.
12A is the limit, not a working target. Barrel connectors get hot near their rating; do not run continuously at the maximum.
It is a hobby-grade indicator, not a calibrated instrument. Expect a small error and do not rely on it for anything safety-critical.

Shows useful information and is very handy. But only problem for me is that the male plug is too short for my battery charging port so that I had to remove the plastic shell (my charging port sits in an angled casing so it will work fine with all straight ports)

Excellent device, very compact, takes up less room than most USB dongles. Great for measuring power consumption and maximum current for any device using a 5.5mm connector from 4.5-50V and up to 12A according to the rating. With adaptors, a wider range of equipment can be similarly tested. I have only tested it on low power devices so far and have doubts about the 12A rating, but I may be being unfair, I am only speculating

Worked perfect for my application to measure how much power my remote camera build project would use.
