Rear calipers with an integrated handbrake must be wound back, not pushed. Forcing one in with a spreader will destroy the parking brake mechanism.
- Check the pin pattern on your caliper piston matches this tool before ordering.
- Winding a piston back forces fluid up into the reservoir. Watch the level so it does not overflow.
- Support the vehicle on axle stands, never on a jack alone.
