Check whether grease is included in the product options — usually it is not, and the bar nose needs a proper bearing grease, not general purpose grease.
Why this matters
The sprocket nose bearing is the hardest working and most neglected part of a chainsaw bar. Ungreased, it seizes, and a seized nose sprocket wrecks the bar and can throw the chain.
Grease it regularly — many manufacturers say every tank of fuel. Turn the sprocket while greasing so it goes all the way round, and stop when clean grease comes out the other side.
Not all bars have a grease hole. Solid-nose and some laminated bars do not; check yours before buying.
Safety
Stop the engine, remove the battery or disconnect the plug lead, and wear gloves before touching the chain or bar. Let a hot bar cool first.
