Important — know its limits
Suction only works on a smooth, clean, dry, non-porous surface. It will not hold reliably on textured tile, rough stone, unsealed concrete, dusty or wet surfaces — and on those it can let go without warning.
Check the stated load rating and treat it as an optimistic figure. Never lift anything overhead with a suction cup, never work under a suspended load, and never rely on a single cup for a heavy slab — use two people and two cups.
Never use a suction lifter as an anchor, a handhold, or fall protection. Test the grip by pulling before you take the weight, and re-pump it during a long lift; vacuum leaks down.
Wear gloves and safety boots. Keep the seal clean and undamaged — a nicked seal is a dropped slab.
