Use
Lint-free matters in electronics repair for a specific reason: a fibre left under a screen, on a sensor or on a lens is visible forever, and a fibre on a board can bridge fine-pitch pads.
Use them dry or lightly damp with isopropyl alcohol. Do not use household glass cleaner or anything containing ammonia on a coated screen or lens — it strips the coating.
Wash them separately from ordinary laundry and never with fabric softener, which coats the fibres and ruins them. Discard any wipe that has picked up grit; that is what puts a scratch on a lens.
