Measure your dog's neck and check the size chart before ordering, and check the collar weight. A heavy chain is uncomfortable on a small or a young dog.
Fit it so two fingers slide underneath comfortably.
Do not leave a heavy chain collar on an unsupervised dog, and never leave one on a dog in a crate or with another dog — chain collars catch on crates, fences and other dogs' teeth, and dogs have been strangled that way.
Check the buckle and links regularly for wear. A failing link on a walk means a loose dog.
This is a walking and fashion collar. It is not a training tool, and it is not a substitute for a properly fitted harness on a dog that pulls.
