Work with the coat, not against it, and go gently over the belly and legs. Do not use them over a wound, a lump or matted fur — mats need cutting out carefully or by a groomer. Keep shampoo out of eyes and ears, and use a shampoo made for animals; human shampoo is the wrong pH for a dog or cat.
