Important — turn the hammer action OFF
Never use this adapter with the hammer function engaged. An SDS shank is designed to slide back and forth in the chuck under hammer action. With a bit holder on the end, that hammering goes straight into the screw head, the bit and the workpiece — it destroys the bit, wrecks the screw, and can shatter the adapter.
Set the drill to rotation only. Even then, an SDS hammer has no clutch and enormous torque; it will strip a screw head or twist a small screw off in an instant.
This is a convenience adapter, not a substitute for a driver. For screwdriving, use a drill/driver with a clutch.
